New Horror Game from the Creator of Silent Hill: Slitterhead

Keichiro Toyama, the creative mind behind Silent Hill and CEO of Bokeh Game Studio, has announced an upcoming action-adventure horror game called Slitterhead. In an interview with Famitsu, Toyama revealed that Slitterhead draws significant inspiration from the classic masterpiece Siren. The game will borrow unique elements from Siren and transform them into an action-focused experience, reintroducing psychic abilities.

Features Inspired by Siren

Slitterhead will allow players to possess bodies, similar to Siren, but will also enable them to view the perspectives of other characters at times. Fans of the original Siren from the early 2000s will undoubtedly be excited for Slitterhead. The game takes what made Siren special and adapts it into a modern action experience.

Setting and Gameplay

Set in the neon-lit, beautiful yet intense streets of Kowlong, Slitterhead features brain-eating entities disguised as humans. The protagonist, a ghostly figure named Hyoki, will possess humans to combat these parasitic creatures.

Unique Appeal and Release Date

Toyama acknowledges that due to its unique features, Slitterhead might not appeal to everyone. However, he hopes that it will still find a market and be enjoyed by players beyond just those who "get it." Slitterhead is set to be released on November 8, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
