Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 4 (v1.040) Released: Gogmazios Joins the Hunt!

Capcom has rolled out Title Update 4 (Version 1.040), the fourth major content update for Monster Hunter Wilds. According to the dev team, this patch brings over 100 core improvements, new monsters, key gameplay changes, and crucial performance optimizations for PC players!
I. New Monsters and Quests
TU4 introduces some of the toughest challenges yet and adds two legendary monsters to the game:

Gogmazios Added: Players who reach Hunter Rank (HR) 100+ can now face Gogmazios. To unlock this monster, you'll need to complete a special quest.

Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad: Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad is now available (accessible through an upcoming Event Quest).

New Tempered Monsters: Additional 9★ tempered monsters like Doshaguma will be added as event quests.

New Extra Quests: Extra quests such as "An Ancient Resting Place" and "Ghosts Pay No Heed to Tomorrow" are now available as you progress through the story.
II. Performance and Gameplay Quality Improvements
Capcom highlights that this update mainly focuses on technical performance improvements.

CPU/GPU Optimization: CPU and GPU optimizations have been implemented across all hardware, improving frame pacing, collision detection, and concurrent effects.

100+ Enhancements: Over 100 performance improvements have been made, covering players, monsters, Seikret, Palicos, and the GUI.

Quest Duration: Minimum quest time has been increased for quests with two or more objectives, generally extending quest durations.

New Support Hunters: After completing the main quest "A Hunter's Pride", new Support Hunters can now join your quests: Griffin (Great Sword), Nightmist (Light Bowgun), and Nadia (a limited-time seasonal event character).
III. Weapon Balancing and Skill Changes
Almost every weapon in your arsenal has received significant damage boosts and quality-of-life adjustments:
| Weapon Class | Main Changes |
| Sword & Shield | Forward Slash base damage increased. Perfect Guard now transitions to regular Guard more quickly. |
| Great Sword | Base and elemental scaling for Charged Slash, Strong Charged Slash, and True Charged Slash increased. |
| Dual Blades | Demon Boost Mode now stays active even after sheathing your weapon. Sharpness consumption reduced. |
| Lance | Base damage for High, Mid, and Triple Thrust increased. Faster transitions from Perfect Guard to other actions. |
| Charge Blade | Reduced "hit stops" during multi-hits in Power Axe Mode. Savage Axe Slash base damage increased. |
| Bow | Thousand Dragons base and elemental scaling increased. Faster coating application. |
IV. Hub and Events

Festival of Accord: The new Festival of Accord event runs from December 19, 2025, to January 14, 2026. During this period, Handler outfits, Hub decorations, and Canteen menus will be temporarily updated.

Artian Weapons: Upgrade and enhancement options for Gogma Artian Weapons have been added to the Smithy.

Armor Upgrades: The Smithy now offers "Transcendent" armor upgrades.
