Catch up on everything revealed at Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast, including a new look at Gachiakuta, Crazy Taxi: World Tour’s Japan map, and the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 trailer.
Xbox took the stage with a special broadcast to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Tokyo Game Show and its own 20th year in Japan. Hosted by Misuzu Araki, the stream focused on Xbox’s partners in Japan and across Asia. Here’s what’s been revealed so far; we’ll keep updating this post as new announcements drop.
The show opened with a fresh look at Gachiakuta. Adapted from the popular anime series, this game features a unique story centered on the value of trash. The original manga is known for its striking illustrations, and the gameplay footage hints at an action-packed adaptation that stays true to its source material.
Next up was a brand-new gameplay trailer for Crazy Taxi: World Tour. The trailer showed off a new Japan-themed city map for players to explore at full speed. The series’ classic “get your passenger there on time” rush and chaotic driving are back in style.
The broadcast also featured upcoming footage from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, launching next month. The trailer delivered the franchise’s signature blend of conspiracies, action, and military jargon. Expect the single-player campaign to offer the blockbuster excitement fans know and love.
Before the show, Xbox confirmed that both Minecraft Dungeons II and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 would be playable on the event floor, so new trailers for these games were already anticipated. With Gears of War: E-Day’s release on the horizon, a fresh trailer for that title is also likely. Given Sony’s recent State of Play featured a strong focus on Japanese and Asian studios, Xbox seems set to spotlight regional developers just as much in this broadcast.
The stream kicked off on September 17 at 7:00 PM JST (12:00 PM CEST) and is scheduled to last about 50 minutes.
No official release date was announced during this segment. More details are expected later in the broadcast or in future updates.
The trailer showcased a city map inspired by Japan.
