Capcom has released Title Update 4 (Version 1.040), the fourth major content update for Monster Hunter Wilds. This patch, which the developers say includes "over 100 core improvements," brings new monsters, key gameplay changes, and crucial performance optimisations especially for PC players!

I. New Monsters and Quests

TU4 introduces some of the toughest challenges yet and adds two legendary monsters to the game:

• Gogmazios Added: Gogmazios is now available for players who have reached Hunter Rank (HR) 100+. To unlock this monster, players must complete an extra quest.

• Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad: Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad is now part of the game and will be accessible through an upcoming Event Quest.

• New Tempered Monsters: Additional 9★ tempered monsters like Doshaguma will be featured as event quests.

• New Extra Quests: New extra quests such as "An Ancient Resting Place" and "Ghosts Pay No Heed to Tomorrow" can now be unlocked as you progress through the story.

II. Performance and Gameplay Quality Enhancements

Capcom highlights that this update is focused on technical performance improvements.

• CPU/GPU Optimisation: Frame pacing, collision detection, and concurrent visual effects have been optimised across all hardware.

• 100+ Improvements: More than 100 performance tweaks have been made, including for players, monsters, Seikret, Palicoes, and the GUI.

• Quest Duration: Minimum quest time for missions with two or more targets has been increased, leading to longer overall quest times.

• New Support Hunters: After completing the main quest "A Hunter's Pride," new Support Hunters can join your missions: Griffin (Great Sword), Nightmist (Light Bowgun), and Nadia (a limited-time seasonal event character).

III. Weapon Balancing and Skill Adjustments

Almost every weapon in hunters' arsenals has received significant damage boosts and quality of life (QoL) fixes:

• Festival of Accord: The new "Festival of Accord" event runs from 19 December 2025 to 14 January 2026. During this period, Handler outfits, hub decorations, and the Canteen menu will be temporarily updated.

• Artian Weapons: Upgrade and enhancement options for Gogma Artian Weapons have been added to the Smithy.

• Armor Upgrades: The Smithy now offers "Transcendent" armor upgrades.
