A deep dive into Fortnite’s new Pokémon-style Sprite collecting craze this season!

Fortnite Monster Collecting Guide!

With every new season shaking up the rules of the Battle Royale universe, Fortnite has introduced a groundbreaking gameplay element to the island. Mysterious, Pokémon-like creatures called "Sprites" have suddenly appeared, sparking a massive collecting and hunting craze among players.

These adorable creatures, each with unique powers and a high-stakes risk-reward system, have turned the island into a full-on "catch them all" competition. Here are all the key details you need to know about Fortnite’s new monster collecting system!

Fortnite Sprite Types and Rarity Rates

While exploring the map or opening special chests, you’ll come across the most sought-after creatures and their drop rates:

Monster / Sprite Name Rarity Class In-Game Special Ability (Buff) Base Drop Rate
Water / Fire / Earth Rare Health Regen, Fire Damage, and Starter Powers 19.88%
Duck / Ghost / Demon Epic Life Steal (Siphon) and Speed Boosts 7.455%
King Sprite Epic Massive Pickaxe Damage Boost 7.455%
Punk / Dream Legendary Top-Tier Character Upgrades 3.479%
Zero Point Sprite Mythic The Strongest and Most Unique Ability on the Map 0.030%
Gold Editions (Special) Special Variant Bonus XP Advantage Varies (Rarest: 0.009%)

What Is the Sprite Craze and How Does It Work?

1. Passive In-Game Abilities

These creatures aren’t just cosmetic items sitting in your inventory. Each monster you find and equip during a match gives your character a passive advantage. For example, equipping a Demon Sprite lets you siphon health from eliminations, while a Water Sprite helps you recover from damage much faster. Plus, as you eliminate opponents, open ammo boxes, and escape the storm, your monster levels up and its abilities become even stronger.

2. The Harshest Rule: Lose the Match, Lose the Monster

What makes players so obsessed is the extraction mechanic. If you’re eliminated before finishing the match with a high-level or rare monster in your backpack, that creature drops from your inventory and is wiped from your lobby collection. To add a monster permanently to your collection, you must reach a designated extraction point and send it safely off the island using an extraction capsule.

3. The "Gold Zero Point" Black Market Legend

There are also shiny Gold variants of these monsters that grant bonus XP in-game. In particular, the Gold Zero Point Sprite is so rare that if other players spot you with one at the start of a match, they’ll chase you across the map just to steal it. Some of these ultra-rare monsters are even secretly traded for real money in online marketplaces, showing just how wild this trend has become.

4. Where to Find Them?

The best way to find these creatures is by breaking open ancient-looking Sprite Chests covered in blue and pink crystals. Scattered all over the island, these chests always drop a random monster and high-quality loot. You can also use keycards to unlock hidden vaults and access multiple special chests at once.
